Heavy duty, premium grade F/R Grade D/S Foil Insulation. Double sided reflective insulation is made from 2 outer layers of pure aluminum foil and 2 layer F/R Kraft paper. These layers are bonded together with F/R Glue and reinforced with 2-way 5x 5mm fiberglass scrim.
Reflective Properties: The primary function of double-sided reflective insulation is to reflect radiant heat. The shiny surface of the reflective material helps to bounce heat radiation away from the insulated area, helping to maintain a more stable temperature.
Insulation Performance: In addition to its reflective properties, double-sided reflective insulation may also incorporate other insulation materials, such as foam or fiberglass, to provide additional thermal resistance and improve overall insulation performance.
Double-Sided Design: The double-sided construction of this insulation means that both sides of the material are reflective, maximizing its ability to reflect radiant heat from both directions.
Versatility: Double-sided reflective insulation can be used in a variety of applications, including walls, roofs, floors, attics, and crawl spaces, to help improve energy efficiency and maintain indoor comfort.
Energy Efficiency: Double-sided reflective insulation helps to reduce heat transfer through radiation, which can lead to lower energy consumption for heating and cooling, resulting in potential energy savings.
Temperature Control: By reflecting radiant heat, this type of insulation can help maintain more consistent indoor temperatures, reducing hot spots and cold drafts in a building.
Moisture Barrier: The reflective surface of the insulation can also act as a moisture barrier, helping to prevent condensation and moisture buildup within the insulated space.
Durability: Double-sided reflective insulation is often durable and long-lasting, providing effective insulation for an extended period without significant degradation.
Non-Toxic: Many double-sided reflective insulation materials are non-toxic and safe for use in homes and buildings.
Attics: Installed under roof rafters or over attic floor joists to reflect heat radiating from the roof in summer and help maintain warmth in winter.
Walls (Limited Use): Can be used behind wall cladding or incorporated into wall assemblies, but it's not a primary insulation source in most building codes.
Crawl Spaces: Can be used on crawl space walls or the underside of the subfloor to reflect heat and improve comfort in the living space above.
Garages and Sheds: Used on walls or ceilings to help regulate temperature, especially in hot or cold climates.
