Insulation Facing Description

The AGE1812 is a professional-grade thermal barrier consisting of multiple specialized layers designed for high-intensity environments. The structure features an 18u aluminum foil surface laminated to a high-density 8×8 mesh/cm glass cloth. To ensure a permanent and secure bond, the back is finished with a heat-activated polyethylene (PE) layer, providing premium heat-sealing capabilities.

This composite material is designed to minimize heat transfer through high reflectivity. While the aluminum layer reflects up to 95% of radiant heat, the fiberglass core provides the mechanical strength and high-temperature stability required to prevent material degradation in harsh settings.

  • Features & Benefits

    • High Reflective Insulation: The polished aluminum surface effectively reflects radiant heat, significantly reducing energy costs and protecting heat-sensitive components.
    • Heat and Flame Resistance: Stable at high temperatures, this cloth is non-combustible and maintains its physical properties under thermal stress.
    • Moisture & Chemical Barrier: The non-porous foil layer acts as a total vapor barrier, protecting underlying materials from water, steam, and industrial chemicals.
    • Superior Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Despite being lightweight, the fiberglass weave provides high tensile strength and puncture resistance.
    • Environmentally Friendly: The material is non-toxic, odorless, and safe for use in confined spaces or food-processing environments.
    • Smooth Aesthetics: Features a clear, smooth surface that provides a professional visual effect for visible installations.
  • Applications

Aluminum Foil Fiberglass Cloth is versatile enough for use across several critical industries:

    • HVAC and Construction: Used as a laminated insulation facing for duct wraps, pipe insulation, and wall barriers to enhance energy efficiency and prevent moisture buildup.
    • Safety and Fire Protection: Due to its flame-resistant nature, it is frequently used in the manufacturing of fire blankets, welding curtains, and safety clothing for foundry workers.
    • Automotive and Aerospace: Provides heat shielding for engine compartments, exhaust systems, and cabin insulation to protect both mechanical parts and passengers from radiant heat.
    • Industrial Equipment: Ideal for wrapping ovens, furnaces, and chemical processing tanks where heat retention or protection from high ambient temperatures is required.

Insulation Facing Technical Data

FAQ:

Q1: Is the aluminum foil layer prone to peeling?
A: No. The AGE1812 utilizes a premium heat-activated polyethylene bonding process that creates a permanent lamination between the foil and the fiberglass, even under thermal cycling.

Q2: Can this material be used outdoors?
A: Yes. The aluminum surface is highly resistant to UV degradation and moisture, making it suitable for outdoor pipe wrapping and weatherproofing.

Q3: Does it offer protection against chemicals?
A: The aluminum foil layer is resistant to most oils and industrial chemicals. However, for highly acidic or alkaline environments, we recommend a technical consultation to ensure compatibility.

Q4: Can you customize the thickness of the fiberglass?
A: Yes. While the standard AGE1812 uses an 8x8 mesh, we can produce this material with heavier thickness glass cloth or special weave patterns upon request.
