Insulation Facing Technical Data

FAQ:

Q1: What does "FSK" stand for?
A: FSK stands for Foil-Scrim-Kraft. It represents the three primary materials used: Aluminum Foil for reflectivity, Fiberglass Scrim for strength, and Kraft Paper for a durable backing.

Q2: Is this product fire-rated?
A: Yes. This is an F/R (Flame Retardant) grade material. All five layers are laminated with flame-retardant adhesive, and the Kraft paper is chemically treated to resist combustion.

Q3: Can this be used as a radiant barrier?
A: Absolutely. The aluminum foil outer layer is designed to reflect radiant heat, making it a highly effective radiant barrier insulation for both residential and industrial applications.

Q4: Does it prevent mold and mildew?
A: By acting as a high-performance aluminum vapor barrier, it prevents moisture from reaching the insulation and building materials, which is the primary cause of mold and mildew growth.

Q5: How does the 2-way scrim help during installation?
A: The bi-directional fiberglass mesh allows the material to be pulled and tensioned around corners and irregular surfaces without tearing, ensuring a seamless and professional finish on HVAC ducts and pipelines.
