Double sided repulpable splicing tape have either a paper-based or non-woven, tissue-based carrier with a water-soluble, pressure-sensitive adhesive system which allows these tapes to be 100% biodegradable, recyclable and repulpable. In the paper and print industry, a splice is a process by which two rolls are combined using tape in order to create one seamless continuous roll.
Repulpable Splicing tape (Double side) are most commonly used by pulp & paper mills for their manufacturing and converting processes. Repulpable splicing tape use to join 2 rolls of paper to increase the length or provide continuity of substrate. Repulpable splicing tape can be recycled to the paper pulp in water. The Repulpable splicing tapes backing and glue can be dissolve in water.
Double sided repulpable splicing tape are commonly used in Overlap splices, flying splices, manual splices, core starting, and roll finishing applications.
Overlap Splice: Apply a double side repulpable splicing tape to bond the overlapped section, attaching two substrates by overlapping the roll ends.
Flying splice: Apply a double side repulpable splicing tape to the end of the roll. The Slitted liner of the tape is then removed one of apart to expose the second side of the adhesive and the new roll is overlapped to the adhesive, and ultimately joining the two together.
Repulpable tape adhesive is water soluble modified Acrylic adhesive.
Tape’s backing is a repulpable paper carrier.
Repulpable means that above materials can be recycled.
Tape provides low splicing thickness and high heat resistance up to 200 °C.
